The dual-edge design, featuring both thick and thin edges, allows you to apply either a thicker or thinner emulsion coating on the screen as needed.
Thinner emulsion coats are typically preferred for higher mesh counts (200 mesh and above), making them ideal for halftone printing and fine details such as four-color process printing.
Thicker emulsion coats are commonly used for spot color printing on lower mesh counts (below 200 mesh), where greater ink coverage is required.

Which Emulsion Scoop Coater Size Should You Use?
Most screen printing frames are measured by their outside dimensions, and typically there is approximately 4 inches of screen frame area that does not require emulsion coating.
For this reason, the recommended scoop coater size is usually smaller than the overall screen size.For example, a 20 × 24 inch screen generally requires a 16 inch emulsion scoop coater to achieve proper and efficient coating coverage.
